Briefly describe a typical workday at Anderson ZurMuehlen.
I don’t think there is such a thing as a typical day in public accounting. One day I could be out at a client’s performing fieldwork for an audit and supervising staff. The next day I could be in the office jumping from meeting to meeting. And the next day preparing a tax return. That’s the great thing about working for Anderson ZurMuehlen every day is different!
What is your role at Anderson ZurMuehlen?
I am a Senior Manager and primarily work in the Attest unit. However, I also, crossover to the Tax unit during tax season.

What do you consider your strongest contribution to our firm?
I am dependable. If I say I am going to get something done, I will get it done.
What specialties/services do you provide your clients?
I am a member of the Nonprofit Specialty Team; the Employee Benefit Plan Specialty team; and the AZ leverage Specialty team. I work primarily with nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, employee benefit plans, and manufacturing/retail companies. I perform financial statement audits, valuation of internal accounting control systems, financial statement preparation, analysis and compliance audits, and provide consulting over many other accounting related issues.
What do you like to do when you are not at the office?
When I am not at the office, you can usually find me spending time with my husband, two dogs, family, and friends out hiking, camping, boating, fishing, or RZR riding.
What has been one of your proudest moments working with Anderson ZurMuehlen?
I would say one of my proudest moments working with AZ is through all of the volunteer work we do. It is great working for a Firm that supports their employees in giving back to the community we live in. One of my most memorable volunteer activities was participating in the Special Olympics Over the Edge fundraiser in which I raised over $1,000 through support from my co-workers for the opportunity to rappel down the First Interstate Bank building in Billings.

What is on your wish list for the next ten years with Anderson ZurMuehlen?
To keep on top of the latest technology in order for us to best be able to serve our clients. Technology is constantly changing and we need to be changing, too.
How has Anderson ZurMuehlen helped you in your career development?
The Firm provides internal trainings on the latest accounting standards and developments in tax; I’ve attended national conferences; participated in leadership development courses; and have had coaches help guide me in my career. I have had the support of the Firm to explore different areas of public accounting and determine where my strengths and passion are.

What does your workspace look like?
My workspace has just recently changed. I office share with 2 co-workers so we keep it very clean. I, also, work from home a couple days a week so there is usually one or two snoring dogs on the floor at the home office.
