With the large amount of job loss and financial instability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many Americans are looking for help with their individual health insurance. If you are one of these people or are seeking to explore health insurance options, the Federal Government opened its enrollment on the Marketplace.
You can now enroll in or change your individual health insurance through the Marketplace. The enrollment period started Sunday, November 1, and runs through December 15, 2020. Individuals who don’t act by December 15th will not get 2021 coverage unless they qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Insurance purchased during this time starts on January 1, 2021.
To enroll you can log in to www.HealthCare.gov and complete an application.
If your household income is between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level you qualify for a premium subsidy or premium tax credit that can lower your insurance costs. Get an estimate of your subsidy here.
