attest staff

At Anderson ZurMuehlen, we really do believe we work with the best of the best, which means we get pretty darn excited to onboard new attest staff. We are pleased to introduce the newest members of our Attest Staff. These accountants work primarily on audits of all types and will be the new friendly faces you’ll see at your next audit!

Brooke Ulmsted – Billings

Brooke Umsted Billings Montana Accountant

Brooke attended MSU for 3 years and finished her final year at MSUB. She realized she wanted to be an accountant after taking ACTG 201 at MSU and absolutely loving it. Her favorite part about the job is going to the client locations and working as a team to accomplish the engagement goals!

In the summer, you’ll find Brooke at her favorite Montana lake enjoying a scoop of Tillamook Vanilla Bean ice cream and listening to “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)” by Looking Glass. She likes to spend her summer evenings in her favorite place: in her backyard with her three dogs, playing fetch, and running through the sprinkler. Brooke’s favorite summertime movie is Instant Family and her best summer memory is going to Silverwood every year as a child.

Carlee Norbeck – Butte

Carlee Norbeck Butte Accountant

Carlee received her undergrad degree at Carroll College and her Masters of Accounting at Montana State. She realized she wanted to be an accountant in high school when she took an accounting class and enjoyed it! Her favorite part about her job is working in a variety of different areas and being able to work with so many different people, both clients and attest staff throughout all AZ locations.

In the summer, she enjoys floating on the Big Hole River and listening to “Summertime” by Kenny Chesney and grabbing a scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream after a long day on the river. Carlee’s favorite summertime movie is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and her best summertime memory is spending a week with her family on Flathead.

Sam Geary – Missoula

Sam attended Montana State University from 2016-2021 and always jokes that he decided to become an accountant because he originally wanted to be a physical therapist, but once he found out he’d be working with cadavers, he switched! In all honesty, he realized he wanted to be an accountant when he took Accounting 201 with Professor Steve Ault who helped him see an accountant’s responsibilities as puzzles to be solved. Sam’s favorite part of the job is being able to work with so many clients. One week he’s working with a county in MT and the next month he’s auditing nonprofit companies.

During the summer, you’ll find Sam strolling through an amusement park searching for a scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. His favorite summertime memory was traveling with his family on a 17-day road trip to Pittsburgh stopping at a few amusement parks along the way.

Sarah Murdock – Billings

Sarah attended MSU Bozeman and realized she wanted to be an accountant when she was a sophomore in college and wasn’t enjoying her major. She tried a few other types of courses and liked her accounting class. Her professor thought it was something she would be good at, so she changed her major to accounting as a junior. Her favorite part of the job is the people she works with.

During the summer, you’ll find Sarah enjoying a cone of Yellow Cake Batter ice cream and listening to “John Deere Green” by Joe Diffie at Willow Creek outside of Lodge Grass. Her favorite summertime movie is The Sandlot and her best summertime memory is any day on the lake or any BBQ with her family.

Wesley Harshbarger – Billings

Wesley Harshbarger Billings Montana Accountant

Wesley is currently attending Rocky Mountain College, with one year left to finish up grad school. He began college as a business major, but became more and more exposed to the accounting profession and decided to get his graduate degree in accounting so he could enjoy the best of both worlds. His first internship with Anderson ZurMuehlen influenced him to pursue an accounting career. His favorite part of working at AZ is the flexibility and everyone’s attitude. He appreciates that every accountant has gone through the frustrations of starting in the business and his coworkers are there to help in any way they can.

In the summer, you’ll find Wesley at his parents’ place in Waterloo, Montana, or up at his family lake house on Georgetown Lake by Philipsburg, Montana listening to “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” by Jake Owen. His best summertime memory is growing up and going to Georgetown Lake over the 4th of July and spending time with his extended family fishing, boating, and eating s’mores!

Will Dorwart – Great Falls

Will attended Montana State University. Go Cats! During his freshman year of college, after he almost failed calculus he took an accounting class and I was hooked immediately! His favorite part of the job is the people! AZ has some of the most amazing coworkers and clients.

In the summer you’ll find Will at one of his secret fishing spots, or hiking in the hills with his dog, Hobbes. You’ll find him enjoying a scoop of Wilcoxson’s Moose Tracks ice cream while listening to “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles or watching The Sandlot. His favorite summer memory is salmon and halibut fishing in Alaska with his dad.
